Webtel.mobi allows you to connect any two national or international landline or mobile numbers from the internet. In this way you get the benefit of low cost internet based telephony services with the added convenience of a normal telephone call.

How do I make a call from my mobile using Webtel.mobi?

Making a call with our low cost services is easy. You will first need to create an account the first time you visit. It's free and all you need is a mobile phone. You can now log in to Webtel.mobi on your mobile phone. Before you can make a call, you will need to buy credit through our simple payment gateway. Now simply enter your phone's number, the number you're calling and click Call. Your phone will ring first - answer it. The phone you are calling will now ring. When they pick up, you're connected!

How do I send a text from my mobile using Webtel.mobi?

Sending a text with our low cost services is easy. You will first need to create an account the first time you visit. It's free and all you need is a mobile phone. You can now log in to Webtel.mobi on your mobile phone. Before you can text, you will need to buy credit through our simple payment gateway. Enter your phone's number, the number you're messaging and click Text. If you've already verified your mobile phone number, that's it! Message sent.

How do I verify my mobile number?

You will need to verify your mobile number after you've joined if you want to buy credit and use the service regularly. Once you've joined, we will send a text message with a code to the mobile phone number that you used to join. Just key your code in at the place indicated on your logged in Webtel.mobi home page, and it's done.

Why would I want to verify my mobile number?

It's for your own security, to prevent other people from sending texts using your number. It also personalises your account, so that all calls made and texts sent show your own mobile phone's ID.

Can I verify more than one mobile number?

Yes, you can verify as many numbers as you like. This gives you the flexibility of being able to set up numbers in as many countries as you like.

How do I buy credit on Webtel.mobi?

Go to the 'Buy credit' page on this site. Enter your Webtel.mobi username and password, and the amount of phone and text credit you require. You will then be able to choose from a number of Payment Gateways through which you can top up your credit in the following denominations: €5, €10, €15, €20, €30, €40 and €50.

For company Risk Control reasons, you can only buy €10.00 of credit in your first two weeks and you can only ever have a total of €51.00 in your account. If you would like to have these limits raised, scan and email a copy of your photo ID and a utility bill from last month with an address and the same name as on your photo ID to info@webtel.mobi.

I have joined and placed credit on my phone, but now cannot login to my account from the phone. Why not and what do I do?

This can either be because you have not entered your password correctly (it is case-sensitive), or because your phone's cookie cache may be interfering. Please check carefully that you are entering your password correctly, and clear the caches on your phone's browser. Log in again. This should resolve the problem.

Is my call secure when I use Webtel.mobi?

Webtel.mobi connects the calls through the same networks that you would use if you made an ordinary phone call. A Webtel.mobi initiated call is therefore as secure as your everyday calls.

How much does Webtel.mobi cost?

How can I join Webtel.mobi from my mobile phone?

What sort of broadband connection do I need?

Do I need to change my phone company or network provider?

No, you do not need to change your phone company or network provider.

Can I use Webtel.mobi to call land lines?

You can use Webtel.mobi to call landlines, as well as mobile phones. Our service allows you to connect any two phones, nationally or internationally.

Can I use Webtel.mobi when I travel?

Yes. You can use Webtel.mobi anywhere in the world, as long as you have a mobile phone. Our unique service also allows you to register more than one mobile number. You can therefore have as many mobile numbers associated with your account as you need.

Is Webtel.mobi a form of Spyware?

No. Webtel.mobi does not require you to download any software or application and therefore there is no risk of any virus or spyware infection.

Can I call and text any numbers?

You can call and text any standard numbers. Premium Rate numbers and any other non-standard numbers cannot be called or texted from Webtel.mobi.

Will my calls always be connected?

Your calls will always be connected unless you call a Premium Rate number, an incorrectly entered number, a non-standard number; or if the mobile networks in the country you are calling are overloaded (which affects standard mobile calls too). In such cases, your call will not be connected.

International number formats

All telephone numbers need to be entered in the standard international number format:

  • First enter a "+" symbol (not an international access code like "00" or "011").

  • Second add the country code for the country where your mobile phone contract is. Even if you are travelling in another country, enter your mobile phone's home country code (for example, the United Kingdom is 44) country codes.

  • Third enter your own mobile phone number without the first zero.

For example, the UK mobile number 07011 177714 would be entered as +447011177714.
